CSWIP Introduction

CSWIP Visual Welding Inspector 3.0 provides the skills and knowledge to conduct visual inspection procedures in relation to welds. Delegates will learn relevant codes of practice and welding inspection terms and definitions.The training also covers wleding processes and defects, welding measurements, practical inspection, reporting and documentation.

This course will teach you the duties and responsibilities of a welding inspector including fusion welding processes, typical weld defects, types of steel (including carbon-manganese, low alloy and stainless steels), the hardening of steels, weldability, heat treatment, and parent metal defects.
The programme also includes visual inspection, the testing of parent metals and welds, and destructive and non-destructive test techniques. You will also learn welder and procedure approval, codes and standards, and an outline of safe working practices.

The CSWIP Senior Welding Inspector course is designed for experienced welding inspectors and quality control staff, especially those who are proceeding to the CSWIP Senior Welding Inspector examination. It is essential that you have a knowledge of the subjects covered in the CSWIP Welding Inspector course before joining this senior welding inspector course. It is also advised that you do some home preparation ahead of this course as it covers a wide range of subject matter.

This course is based on real cases from industrial practice. Candidates are working to real radiographic interpretation specifications based on EN ISO standards (including the acceptance criteria). The specific knowledge is based on minimum necessary theoretical background followed by number of exercises, which helps the candidate to gain confidence when working with standards and procedures and assure the correct approach and assessment to acceptance criteria.
